Vodka is a beverage who's origin is widely disputed.The argue about who invented vodka is between Poland and Russia.Both of them claim the right that they have invented this great beverage, and until today it stays this dispute.Just as a record, most of the North-East European countries produce vodka today.

The word vodka means "water".But sometimes its meaning of water connects with the medieval alcoholic beverage called "aqua vitae" or holly water.

Every alcohol has a freezing point but a regular freezer can't freeze vodka.The low quality vodka has more water in it and it will freeze faster then the more quality vodka.Just so you know, in lower temperatures vodka tends to loose its taste.That is one reason why low quality vodka's are served cold.

Vodka when was first created was used as a spirt in medicine.It was used to disinfect wounds and to bring down fever.

8.Vodka saved elephants from freezing

2 elephants have been saved in Russia from the freezing cold by giving them to drink vodka.
In order to save them them,people used 2 cases of vodka mixed with water.Apparently it helped.

In the Russian town of Glazov there was a 3 meter tall vodka monument.But since president Putin signed a ban for all alcohol advertisement,they had to be remove the statue because it was considered as and ad.
